Key Personnel

Robert Sieniuc
M.E. Des (Architecture), BA, MAIBC

Rob Sieniuc is the founding principal of Broadway Architects. Rob has 30 years environmental design experience on a diverse range of sustainable architecture and planning projects throughout Western and Northern Canada. Several of his firm's projects have become landmarks in their respective communities.

Rob holds a Master of Environmental Design (Architecture) from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) from the University of Alberta. He has a long-standing interest in sustainable community planning dating back to his masters thesis (1981), an energy efficient, eco village concept plan for Olds College, Alberta - at the time one of the first such plans of its kind in Western Canada.

Rob is actively involved in teaching communities about environmentally responsive development including the benefits of self construction. He has been an advocate, speaker and workshop leader at numerous conferences. Many of his firm's projects have been featured in print and on television. The Knowledge Network TV film "In A Sacred Way We Build" (OMNI Productions) documents the firm’s Seabird Island Sustainable Community Demonstration project. It highlights the community’s extraordinary participation in the development of this ecologically based housing project. A recent CBC North news report features the self construction process employed on Broadway Architects Government House project.
