Cloverdale & Rosedale Community (River Valley )
City of Edmonton, Winter Cities Competition (1985)

Our plan for the Cloverdale and Rosedale neighbourhoods in Edmonton, Alberta, won four first place awards in the Urban Planning Winter City Design Competition.

The design concept for this living/ working community called for the reorganization of roadways, the reshaping of the Low Level Bridge into a market place, introduction of bicycle paths, a river ferry and a gondola to downtown, pedestrian walkways, provision of major open space, introduction of community garden plots, greenhouses, recycling strategies, retention of historic buildings and the use of energy conservation strategies.

It was one of Western Canada's very early eco based community plans. (Jack Long, Rob Sieniuc & Burke Moriarty)
